NITT (Northern Illinois Transport Team) has done over 1,450 transports from the Chicago Animal Care and Control (CACC) facility in the last five years resulting in over 4,000 cats being saved. This breaks down to an average of 66 cats a month, or 800 cats a year. We've been instrumental in saving literally thousands of lives! We need help to continue and to save even more lives.

We have over 330 drivers in Illinois alone with another 50 in neighboring states. We are highly organized with a dedicated pool of drivers. We have a 100% success rate on all transport requests to date. It's a great group!

REQUIREMENTS

• Have a smart phone and a working knowledge of computers or smart phones (for posting and tagging on Facebook).
• Able to devote at least 5 to 10 hours a week, mostly during the daytime.
• Have a Facebook and Facebook Messenger account.
• Be detail oriented.
• Must be self-motivated.

NITT BRIEF OVERVIEW

We have our program set up so when a transport request comes in, a very short text message is sent to all administrators' cell phones. Admins drop into a Facebook chat and reply whether they can or cannot post and monitor it.

All our needed paperwork and posting material is automatically generated by our program. It's a simple procedure of copy and paste. The administrator monitors the thread for volunteers. Once a driver is secured, a short email is sent to CACC authorizing that driver to pick up the cat. We then create a simple Facebook event.

We also have an app (TeamApp) we've configured for emergency situations to reach out to all drivers in certain zones for emergency last minute rescues and have a sophisticated mapping database that filters available drivers for that day.
